Such a neat looking aircraft.  I wonder if my kids will think the same thing about aircraft of our generation. I suspect not as much.

Our generation of aircraft are not so revolutionary. I mean, they are, but flying is not a new thing.

I wish someone had the guts to do a “flying wing” airliner.  I know it has a whole host of issues that it brings, but it’d be really cool.

There is a great book called, “The long way home” where a clipper 314 in the Pacific is working a route when Pearl Harbor is attacked, and they can’t go home through a war zone, So, they have to keep flying west, india ocean, africa, south Atlantic to eventually get to Laguardia, NY. (Where I might add the Marine-Air terminal still exists, and within it is a kick-ass deli! Their Pastrami is wonderful)

The Smithsonian air and space museum magazine printed an excerpt of that book like 20 years ago. I always think of that story when I think of this airplane. Things like picking up a drum of motor oil along the way, keeping the good fuel and reserve in certain tanks for takeoff and then cruising on the lower octane gas, stuff like that. I'll have to look for the book though.

I did manage, I think, to sell a little bit of it today. I couldn't get them on the phone, so did it web based.

Not sure what I think about you actually  following my advice again - you may curse me when it passes $2000! Haha...
